Music Director David Carrier has announced the Newton Choral Society's 2012-2013 concert year. Our 37th season is rapidly approaching and brings together popular choral works with some of Boston's favorite soloists and instrumentalists.

To open the season in November, NCS will be joined by Newton-based Youth Pro Musica in a performance of the rhythmic and energetic Carmina Burana. Solosists Susan Consoli, Matthew Anderson, and Thomas Jones will be featured.

March brings a presentation of  Haydn’s masterful oratorio, Die Schöpfung (The Creation), with the chorus accompanied by orchestra. The arias will be sung by local  favorites Kendra Colton and David Kravitz as well as newcomer Peter Halpern.

Our late Spring concert will showcase the tranquil and beautiful Faure Requiem with Susan Consoli performing the tender Pie Jesu and David McFerrin offering the Libera Me.

This is a season not to be missed so consider subscribing to the series.
