Section Leader Jobs
Job Description
Commonwealth Chorale seeks alto and tenor Section Leaders for their 2022-2023 season. Rehearsals are most Tuesdays from 7:30pm-10:00pm at Eliot Church in Newton with some Monday evening rehearsals and Saturday morning retreats. Pay is $80 per call. Section Leaders have the opportunity to perform the solo portions of our November 2022 and March 2023 concerts and will receive additional compensation for any solo work. At rehearsals the Section Leader will be a musical leader for their section, providing support and instruction for section members, guiding the development of their section, and providing advice and instruction on vocal technique to the chorus generally.

Qualifications
- Ability to sing both as an ensemble member and as a soloist
- Strong reading skills
Application Details
Applicants will be asked to audition for the Artistic Director, preferably in late August 2022. Applicants should prepare two short pieces in contrasting style that demonstrate the applicant's voice at its best. A pianist will be provided. Applicants will be asked to sight-sing. Applicants may be asked to prepare one or two short excerpts from solos in the 2022-2023 season.

Application Deadline
Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, with audition dates on the evenings Tuesday, August 30 and Tuesday, September 6. Additional dates may be set as needed.
