Standing O for a World Premiere

Tait, Carrier, Cooman 2019 Holy Name.jpgIn celebration of David Carrier’s 40 years as Music Director of Commonwealth Chorale, an oratorio for chorus and chamber orchestra as well as soprano and tenor soloists was commissioned.  The oratorio, As We Are Changed, was composed by Commonwealth composer Carson Cooman with libretto by European poet Euan Tait. Soloists Susan Consoli, soprano, and Matthew Anderson, tenor, added their well-matched voices and musicality to the performance. Tait wrote in his synopsis,  “Our world and our lives are transformational and in constant transformation, and this work is the music of those transformations.” The audience was transformed and responded with an immediate standing ovation. The concert took place on November 16, 2019, at Church of the Holy Name, West Roxbury.
