Previewing our 2024 - 2025 Season

On November 24, 2024 at 4: 00 PM, we open our 49th season with Johann Sebastian Bach’s beloved Magnificat and compositions by two well-known contemporary British composers: Jonathan Dove’s Köthener Messe and Cecilia McDowall's Laudate. Both Dove’s and McDowell’s compositions pay tribute to and reflect Bach’s influences while incorporating modern harmonies and techniques. We will be joined by a professional orchestra and soloists.

On March 8th, 2025 at 7:00 PM, we will join forces with the Rivers Symphony Orchestra and professional soloists to perform Carl Orff’s dramatic Carmina Burana! Orff’s composition is an audio feast drawing on poems from the 11th and 12th centuries to create self-contained stories, many of which satirized the Catholic Church.

We conclude our season on May 10, 2025 at 8:00 PM by celebrating the diversity of American folk songs. Our program includes a selection of Aaron Copland’s Old American Songs, Nathaniel Dett’s Chariot Jubilee and a selection of Alice Parker’s (this season’s Commonwealth Composer) folk song and spiritual arrangements. We will be accompanied by a small chamber instrumental ensemble and piano and/or organ.

Complete details on this engaging and creative season will be coming soon!
