Outreach Program

Commonwealth Chorale’s outreach singers is a group of about 15 singers from the chorus.  We perform, with piano accompaniment, at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other locations in the greater Boston area.  The approximately 45-minute program includes a variety of music including American Songbook, folk, pop, and classical.  We often include shorter pieces that have been sung by the chorus in one of our concert programs (eg, Copland's Simple Gifts and At the River, Siegfried’s I’ll Fly Away). At the end of each performance, we have a sing-along with our audience.

We typically perform our outreach program about six times a year, with three appearances in the fall and three in the spring.  Our audiences always enjoy our performances and the experience of singing for these audiences is very rewarding, especially when we have the audience join us during the sing-along section.
