A Commonwealth Composer concert
Whether you're a lifelong lover of classical music or attending your first choral concert, this program offers an unforgettable musical journey.
Maurice Duruflé's beloved Requiem is renowned for its serenity and radiant beauty, offering comfort rather than sorrow.
Tarik O'Regan's Triptych weaves together contemporary voices with diverse, century-spanning texts of remembrance, compassion, and hope from British poets Blake, Milton, Wordsworth, and Hardy, Quaker William Penn, author and poet Rabbi Roland B. Gittelsohn, and from Muslim, Hindu, and Sufi poets.
The concert also features the world premiere of a new work by emerging composer and chorus member Charlotte Koonce, giving audiences the rare opportunity to experience a piece being heard publicly for the very first time.
Together, these works create an evening of breathtaking sound, profound emotion, and quiet reflection—a chance to step away from the pace of everyday life and experience the extraordinary power of the human voice.
