Our November concert launched our 50th anniversary season with musical fanfares and joy. An enthusiastic nearly sold-out audience at St. John the Evangelist Church in Wellesley responded enthusiastically to our musical themes of joy, hope for happiness and freedom, and peace. We celebrated the 43-year tenure of Music Director Emeritus David Carrier and our original members, two of whom, Cindy O’Hare and Ann Belanger, were at the concert (Ann is still singing with us!). As founding members Marjorie Toledo and Barbara Chen wrote in the concert’s program book, “When we set out to found what would ultimately become Commonwealth Chorale, we could never have imagined it would grow to include the breadth and quality of talent that it has, let alone still be serving the community 50 years later. We simply wanted to start a group where we and others could enjoy performing beautiful music”. We look forward to another 50 years of bringing our audiences beautiful music!
